Currently, Golden Oak Ranch is not open to the public. As a working studio, Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will not be open to the public for safety and liability reasons.

There is an incredible need for additional studio space to keep the entertainment industry healthy and keep production in Los Angeles. Today, in Los Angeles during peak production periods, soundstage and production support facility vacancies are at a premium and can be as low as 1%. Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch strengthens the local entertainment industry in the region by creating new state-of-the-art production facilities that will benefit film and television production in Los Angeles.

Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will be constructed on a 56-acre portion of the property, which accounts for approximately 6% of the entire 890-acre Golden Oak Ranch property. The site for the project was carefully selected to preserve the natural settings of Golden Oak Ranch and is located directly adjacent to State Route 14 on two large, mostly barren parcels created by Caltrans during construction of the freeway.

As with our Burbank Studio Lot facilities, Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will be used primarily for ABC and Disney productions however, facilities could be rented out to other production companies as they would become available.

Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will be a state-of-the-art working studio and will consist of many of the elements associated with major and established studios.

Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch includes:

• 6 Pairs of Soundstages
• Production Offices
• Talent Bungalows
• Commissary and other Amenities
• Administration Offices
• Production Shops
• Production Storage (Sets, Props, Drapery, Costumes and more)
• Support Facilities

Depending on market conditions and need, the project could be reduced to 4 pairs of soundstages and up to 100,000 square feet of studio office space.

Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will be a world-class environmentally sensitive project that enhances and enriches the history and beauty of Golden Oak Ranch and Placerita Canyon.

Design Features:

• Limit development to approximately 6% of the Ranch
• Complement the rural and agricultural setting
• Create extensive and native landscaping along streets, entries and throughout the new studio
• Respect and enhance Placerita Creek
• Maintain vistas of Placerita Canyon
• Minimize visibility of project from adjacent properties
• Protect the 195-acre outdoor filming operations at the Ranch
• Retain 639-acre natural backdrop areas of the Ranch
• Locate projects with direct access to State Route 14

Yes, Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch is committed to creating a world-class environmentally sensitive project that enhances and enriches the history and beauty of Golden Oak Ranch and Placerita Canyon.

Green Design Features:

• Implement green building design and construction practices to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification
• Reduce energy use by exploring sustainable design features such as green walls, solar panels and cool roofs
• Plant native and drought-tolerant landscaping to minimize water usage
• Use planted areas and bio-swales to minimize stormwater runoff
• Create synergistic use of indoor and outdoor production activity to reduce traffic impacts in region

Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will be subject to a comprehensive environmental review and approval process including public hearings with the County of Los Angeles.

Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will complement and strengthen the local motion picture, television and commercial production business in the area. It will create thousands of new jobs and bring new opportunities for local businesses throughout Los Angeles County and the city of Santa Clarita.

Specifically, Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch will generate:

During Construction:

• 3,152 jobs
• $522 million in direct economic activity throughout Los Angeles County

At Full Buildout:

• 2,854 full and part-time jobs
• $533 million in annual economic activity throughout Los Angeles County
• $26 million in new annual revenues to the state of California
• $1.3 million in new annual revenues to Los Angeles County
• $200,000 in new annual revenues to the city of Santa Clarita
